Beacon to host Remembrance Day Fan Zone for Heroes' Week
The Beacon of Light will host a dedicated Remembrance Day Fan Zone ahead of Sunderland AFC’s match against Coventry City.
Our very own coffee shop inspired by Sunderland's shipyards and local history. It's the perfect pitstop for refreshments or an ideal place to meet up with friends, family or clients. It's also open every SAFC home game as part of the matchday Fan Zone.

The Fans Supporting Fans mental health drop-in service for football fans is run by supporters' group the Sunderland Branch Liaison Council and local charity Washington Mind, in partnership with Foundation of Light.
Drop-in every home matchday from 12.30-2.30pm
The first of its kind - a dedicated women’s peer-to-peer support group.
The initiative aims to provide a safe and supportive space for women to openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and triumphs.
The free to attend drop-in group is open to all females aged 18+. 6.30 - 7.30pm and every Tuesday.

Sir Bob's autobiography ‘I’d Do It All Again’, will be available to buy at the Beacon of Light from 12 October.
100% of proceeds from sales of the autobiography will go to the Foundation of Light.
Through our World of Work Zone we help employers, young people and unemployed remove barriers to gaining skills and employment.
Working alongside schools, colleges and other agencies we promote a lifelong love of learning by promoting education through purpose-built classrooms, innovative teaching techniques and interactive spaces.
Through personalised, inspiring and authentic learning experiences our aim is to nurture talent, build character and help shape futures.

Baroness Estelle Morris of Yardley, a trustee of Sunderland AFC’s official charity, took part in the conference and called the Beacon ‘a fantastic building’ adding that ‘what happens here is absolutely key.’
Beacon of Light will host a dedicated Mental Health Awareness Fan Zone, with stalls promoting initiatives including Ripple Suicide Prevention, Impact North East, Game of II Halves, and SPACE North East.
Every penny we make at the Beacon is given back to the Foundation of Light, to help tackle some of our region's biggest challenges including social isolation, unemployment, food poverty and poor physical and mental health.
Thanks to you, this critical community work can continue.
