Together as one: The Wear One campaign is a call for Sunderland to pull together as one, offering support to those in need and fostering an inclusive community.

Raising awareness: 1 in 3 children in Sunderland is living in poverty. This stark statistic underscores the urgent need for community support and action.

A hand up, not a handout: Empowering people to improve their lives. The Wear One campaign focuses on giving individuals the tools and opportunities they need to gain employment and enhance their quality of life.

Foundation of Light Matchday

Sunderland AFC's home match against Millwall on Saturday 29 March will be dedicated to Foundation of Light and our Wear One campaign.

There are plenty of ways for you to get involved and show your support ahead of the game.

You can take part in one of our Prize Draws, which give you the chance to make a donation to the Foundation of Light and win something back. Prizes include signed memorabilia and money can't buy experiences. 

Ha'way and Play lottery on matchday provides another chance to win prizes while donating to SAFC's official charity. Prizes include £1,000 or a signed ball, with all proceeds from the matchday lottery supporting Foundation of Light. 

Supporters are welcome to do their own fundraising activities. Whether that is to organise a 'Red and White Day' allowing people to wear their colours to school or work in return for a donation, or a sponsored run like Alfie and Joe, who ran all the way to Sheffield in support of Wear One, feel free to get in touch about how we can help.

How your money can help:

  • £3 would give someone access to our healthy lifestyle fitness programme
  • £5 would teach a person how to cook healthy meals on a budget
  • £10 would pay for an older couple to attend activities to improve physical and mental wellbeing
  • £20 would teach a family how to cook healthy meals on a budget
