ATW show support for men’s mental health after sponsoring Game of II Halves Conference

Foundation of Light are delighted to introduce ATW – Around the World Tree and Landscaping Specialists as headline sponsors for the upcoming Game of II Halves Conference.

The official charity of Sunderland AFC is set to bring hundreds of people together for a free, large-scale event focused on men’s mental health.

Sponsoring the Game of II Halves conference strongly resonated with ATW and its Managing Director, David Boucher, who is passionate about breaking down barriers to open communication within his workforce.

“When the Foundation of Light contacted to ATW to get involved, we saw it as a great opportunity for our team,” said David.

“The tree and landscaping industry is a predominantly male environment, and we regularly see how difficult it can be for men to speak up about their problems.

“I think we have guys who struggle to talk because it can feel like a macho kind of environment, and they find it hard to open up and speak.

“We felt that it would be a great opportunity to get involved in the Game of II Halve project, which is helping to break down those barriers.”

ATW’s sponsorship has not only helped raise vital funds to expand the Game of II Halves mental health ambassador initiative across Sunderland, but also marks the beginning of a meaningful partnership between the project and a local business.

As part of this collaboration, the Game of II Halves team will visit ATW to speak directly with staff, which has been well received by their team.

David said: “When I told the guys that the Game of II Halves team would be coming to the depot to speak to us, I was surprised by how many of them came forward to say they were looking forward to it.

“They want to be involved, and they want to speak out. It reassured us that this was the right thing to do for our workforce.”

Based in Sunderland, ATW provides tree surgery and landscaping services across the region, including resin driveways, paving, artificial grass, and fencing.

With strong roots in the local community, the company continues to build a growing partnership with the Foundation of Light.

“One of ATW’s core values is giving back to our community,” David added.

“We work with local businesses and have built strong relationships with Sunderland City Council, Sunderland AFC, and the Foundation of Light, which are all incredibly important to us.”
