Adult and Family Learning

Foundation of Light supports adult learners aged 19+ to enhance their employability skills by providing recognised vocational qualifications, employability & personal skills, including English & maths. We also help parents, grandparents and carers support their child’s development through a range of fun, interactive courses.

Each session involves a range of classroom and practical activities delivered by highly qualified tutors.Learners will be given the opportunity to progress on to a range of Foundation of Light programmes, depending on your goals.

Adult Learning Accredited Courses

Free and unique vocational courses designed to support adults (aged 19+) across the North East in finding work by raising skills and confidence. The courses consist of a mixture of classroom, practical and physical activities. Delivered from the Beacon of Light and the Foundation’s outreach sites across the North East.

Adult Learning Non-accredited Courses

Free and unique vocational courses designed to support adults (aged 19+) across the North East in finding work by raising skills and confidence. Courses focus on various topics relating to child development, health and well-being, mental health awareness, maths and English, as well as healthy cooking.

Family Learning

A range of fun, interactive courses to help parents, grandparents and carers support their child’s development, whilst strengthening the family bond. Ten-week courses focus on topics relating to child development, health and wellbeing, mental health awareness and healthy cooking.
