Black History Month 2020

Black History Month 2020
The Foundation of Light usually has a number of events throughout each October to celebrate black history. Many of our learners will take part in activities to highlight the achievements of those with African American origins. Since we can’t do that this year, throughout the month, members of our team will choose a black icon and explain how they influenced their lives. First up, our Premier League Kicks coordinator Dave chose music legend, Jimi Hendrix: “He redefined what could be achieved with an electric guitar.  He managed to change the course of rock music forever, demonstrating what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.” Our Primary Stars coordinator Danielle, also chose a musician as her black icon: “Jason Derulo uses his brand to support equality and those in need. “His charity promotes education and provides shelter to orphans and the homeless. I met him in 2018 and he was just totes amaze!”
