Egg-citing Easter at the Beacon

Egg-citing Easter at the Beacon

Keep your youngsters busy this Easter with a range of different sessions at the Beacon of Light.

Courses kick-off on Tuesday 2 April and there’s something happening on each day of the two-week break. Here are some of the sessions available:

Holiday Club

Every day at Holiday Club is different. Participants will take place in a range of activities, from multi-sport to arts and crafts or films and fancy dress. The mixed activity sessions offer the perfect environment for your child to be creative.

Disability Football and Multi-Sports

As part of our commitment to ensure young people across our region have access to sport and activity, Foundation of Light hosts disability football courses, featuring a range of activities and small-sided games. Or for children that would prefer a mix of sports activities, we also offer disability multi-sports sessions, including dodgeball, handball, and basketball.

Be a Streamer Day

A brand-new session taking place in the Beacon’s state-of-the-art Esports room, your child can become their favourite streamer for the day and game to their heart’s content.

Baking

This Easter we have a Peter Rabbit themed baking class split into two sessions – morning for children aged 2-5 and afternoon for ages 6-14.

Football Courses

We have various football courses, offering something for every child, from those starting their footballing journeys to the ones trying to refine their skills further. Football courses are based at the Beacon and further afield in Beamish, Wellfield, and Kirkby Stephen. There are also opportunities to book 1:1 coaching sessions during Easter and our ‘Train Like a Pro’ day returns on Friday 5th April at Ford Quarry Football Hub.

Family Fun Day

Also taking place this Easter is Foundation of Light’s Family Fun Day. The jam-packed day of sports, play, and activity has been a hit with families across Sunderland and is back by popular demand. The Beacon of Light will be open to the community on Friday 5th April from 10am to 3pm, with advance booking required for £2. This year’s event will be split into various time slots to manage capacity.
