FAMILY TOWER ABOVE WITH NEW ONLINE SKILLS COURSES

FAMILY TOWER ABOVE WITH NEW ONLINE SKILLS COURSES
The Foundation of Light’s brand-new Isolation to Education programme has already proved very popular with those keen to learn during lockdown. Scores signed up to the 15 newly developed courses, introduced to provide those on furlough or recently made redundant with online resources to gain additional skills and qualifications. The Towers family from Houghton-le-Spring have been the first to pass a course, with mum Laura and children Heidi and Marco all working together to complete it. They signed up to Family Learning Murder Mystery Maths via the online form not long after the courses were revealed. Laura said: “I can highly recommend this course for any parents who are looking for ways to help their children engage with their maths work. “Sarah, our tutor, was really supportive and my children were always enthusiastic when it came to starting the next piece of work. Throughout the course, we were able to work together as a team and the children were able to both improve their maths and learn a range of other skills which will be very useful for them.” The Isolation to Education programme has seen just short of 100 participants since being launched last month. The free courses available provide a recognised qualification and our highly skilled tutors are on hand to support throughout. A variety of Family Learning courses are available for you and your family to enjoy including; Enterprise,  Football Manager challenge, Healthy Eating at Home, Healthy Lifestyle at Home, Learning Through Children’s Literature, Mental Health Heroes, Murder Mystery Maths and Sustainable Families. All Family Learning courses are mapped to the National Curriculum and take circa 10-12 hours to complete. Our Back in the Game courses come with the added bonus of obtaining a Level 1 qualification.  Topics include; Art and Design, Health and Wellbeing, Home Cooking Skills, Social Action, Sport and Fitness and Work Skills. Back in the Game courses start from a minimum of 23 guided learning hours to complete. If you are interested in any of the above courses please complete the online form and one of our tutors will be in touch.
