Join us from 1
st June for the Foundation of Light Virtual Cycle Challenge – your chance to get moving and make a life-changing difference to local lives.
Every year, tens of thousands of pounds is raised to support our award-winning work when over 40 amateur cyclists don their lycra, cleats and helmets to pedal hundreds of miles to help provide life changing programmes to communities across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.
This year, we should have been cycling from the beautiful Pisa to Rome – 275 gruelling miles across the stunning Italian countryside.
With this year’s trip cancelled, we’re encouraging people from Sunderland to Seaham, Bishop Auckland to Barnard Castle to take on the challenge and cycle 275 in four weeks, raising a few bob for our life-changing work along the way.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro, an ambitious amateur or haven’t been on a bike in years, taking part is simple.
Complete the mileage in your own time and at your own pace between 1
st June and 27
th June, on the roads, on the rollers or on an exercise bike, and log your mileage on our
Strava group.
And don’t forget to share your selfies and stories with friends and family using #FoLVirtualCycleChallenge!
Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a special certificate and will recognised in our Cycle Challenge Hall of Fame on our website and social media.
