Foundation to host 'Rights Respecting Day'
Foundation of Light are helping youngsters at a County Durham school demonstrate their commitment to respecting the rights and well-being of others. More than 150 Year 7 pupils at Greenfield Community College will take part in a 'Rights Respecting Day' on Wednesday 7th February which will focus on Equality and Diversity through racism, stereotyping and disability awareness workshops. The event is part of a wider initiative introduced by UNICEF which has its roots in the rights of the child, supporting and encouraging them to be responsible citizens. Alongside Equality and Diversity, other Rights Respecting Days delivered by Foundation of Light cover Mental Health Awareness and Employabilty, all of which give young people the opportunity to discuss big issues, share ideas, access information and voice their own opinions with adults and their peers.
