Wear 25: Hospitality student Tolu's journey to first qualification and confident presenter
Hospitality student Tolu has made remarkable progress with the Foundation of Light’s Study Programme so far, earning her a Wear 25 Award.
Foundation of Light Chief Operating Officer Jamie Wright will join bosses from companies across the North East to take part in CEO Sleepout.
Jamie is among the business leaders who will give up their warm beds, trading it for the cold concrete at the Stadium of Light in a bid to raise money for local charities tackling homelessness and poverty.
This year’s Sleepout will take place on Thursday 6 November at the home of Sunderland AFC, and you can still sign up to join Jamie and fundraise for the Foundation of Light.
Sunderland AFC’s official charity is helping the city’s most vulnerable and empowering people to improve their lives through the Wear One campaign.
In the last year alone, the Foundation has upskilled over 2,000 learners and helped 88 people get a job.

June was another action-packed month for Foundation of Light, as we celebrated female sport and started preparations for the 2026/27 season.
The month formed part of the Together Through Sport campaign with the aim of inspiring more girls to get active and enjoy the benefits of sport.
