Foundation of Light’s first-ever Golf Day has been hailed a great success after raising over £10,000 for Sunderland AFC’s official charity.
Former SAFC players Kevin Ball, Ritchie Pitt, Martin Scott and Micky Horswill joined fundraisers taking to the green in support of the Foundation.
Following the 18 holes, golfers enjoyed a BBQ at the clubhouse and a prize presentation by the ex-Black Cats skipper Kevin Ball.
Accolades were given out for longest drive and nearest to the pin with Team Barbour taking the highest score on the day.
Durham-based car dealership, Croxdale sponsored the event at Ramside Hall and managing director Anthony Rockingham was pleased with how it went:
“We were so very proud to sponsor the Foundation’s inaugural Golf Day. It’s an honour to support the great work that they do and the event was such a great success we’re already looking forward to next years!
“Our teams had a brilliant day and although our team didn’t win, our sales manager, Jamie Stidwell scooped the for the ‘Longest Drive’ prize!
