Foundation of Light is helping people build their digital skills and confidence this October with free workshops as part of Get Online Week 2026.
Taking place from 19–25 October, Get Online Week is the UK’s annual digital inclusion campaign, led by Good Things Foundation. The campaign aims to highlight the importance of having the skills and confidence to take part in an increasingly digital world.
And those skills matter more than ever. From applying for jobs and managing money to accessing services and staying connected, so much of everyday life now happens online.
As part of the week, Foundation of Light will be hosting a programme of activity designed to help people develop practical digital skills – including two free Create Your Own Website workshops at the Beacon of Light.
Whether you have an idea for a small business, a side hustle, a club or community group, or simply want somewhere to showcase your work, the three-hour session will take you through the process of planning, designing and building a simple website of your own.
No previous experience is needed.
The free sessions take place at the Beacon of Light on:
- Monday 19 October, 1–4pm
- Thursday 22 October, 1–4pm
Places are limited and advance booking is recommended.
The workshops form part of Foundation of Light’s wider work to help people across the region develop the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to move forward.
