Paw-some reward for Primary Stars pupils

Paw-some reward for Primary Stars pupils
Pupils at St James RC Primary School were rewarded for their hard work in our Primary Stars programme with a visit from Russell the police dog. The Foundation of Light have been working with the year three group on a special social action project in partnership with Northumbria Police, Santa Paws. The class have been learning about the responsibility of looking after animals and thinking of ways to educate others around getting a pet, especially in the run up to Christmas. As part of the sessions, the children designed posters to display around their school and the Foundation’s Beacon of Light base. The children also donated a range of cat and dog essentials to a local animal shelter. Sally College Sargent Neighbourhood Policing and PC Russell made a surprise visit to the school to thank the children for their generosity and hard work.
