Plenty of positives from North East Parkies United's first tournament
There were plenty of positive signs for North East Parkies United in their first official tournament since founding in September 2024.
Sunderland AFC trio Timothèe Pembélé, Adil Aouchiche, and Abdoullah Ba visited the Beacon of Light to join in with some Foundation of Light half-term holiday courses.
The Black Cats stars joined Holiday Club outdoors for a game of dodgeball on the multi-use games area before heading up to the rooftop pitch to get involved with the football courses.
After a kickabout, the French trio headed to the Ministry of Food kitchen to put their culinary skills to the test with the ‘Heart on your Sleeve’ baking course participants. The lads competed to see who could decorate the best cupcake, with the participants choosing Abdoullah Ba's effort as the standout.
The visit comes on the back of the Foundation announcing that their dedicated Sunderland AFC matchday will take place on March 16, when The Lads take on QPR at the Stadium of Light.
Evening and weekend courses with the Foundation of Light are now available to book for the next school term. Head here to book: Online Booking System
