Wear 25: Hospitality student Tolu's journey to first qualification and confident presenter
Hospitality student Tolu has made remarkable progress with the Foundation of Light’s Study Programme so far, earning her a Wear 25 Award.
Foundation of Light is giving a lucky Sunderland AFC supporter the chance to win a mascot place for Sunderland AFC’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The fixture on Saturday 14 March has been allocated as the Foundation of Light’s dedicated matchday, a special occasion celebrating the life-changing work delivered across the North East.
Foundation of Light have one remaining mascot place for the game which is up for grabs for a child aged 6-12 via an online prize draw.
Hosted on Crowdfunder, supporters can buy entries, starting at £5 for one entry, into a random draw where one winner will be given the unforgettable experience of walking out with their heroes.
Bigger donations will give you more entries and a greater chance of winning the random draw, but it only takes one name in the hat to give your child an opportunity.
All funds raised by the prize draw will support Foundation of Light in their mission to change lives through the power of football across Sunderland, South Tyneside, and County Durham.
More Than A Game
The Foundation of Light Matchday is more than just a fixture, it’s a celebration of the people, partnerships and programmes that make a difference every day.
As part of the Premier League’s Community Weekend, it highlights how football can be more than a game, driving change through education, improving wellbeing, and creating opportunities for those who need it most.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to get involved, and play their part in supporting the Foundation.

June was another action-packed month for Foundation of Light, as we celebrated female sport and started preparations for the 2026/27 season.
The month formed part of the Together Through Sport campaign with the aim of inspiring more girls to get active and enjoy the benefits of sport.
