We ❤️ Sunderland: New free fitness programme

Foundation of Light is helping people across Sunderland and County Durham put their health and wellbeing first with the launch of We ♥ Sunderland, a new free 12-week fitness and wellbeing programme.

Funded by the Premier League Fans Fund, We ♥ Sunderland has been designed to help people make small, realistic changes to feel healthier, move more and look after their overall wellbeing.

Life can be busy, and finding time to focus on yourself can often slip down the list.

We ♥ Sunderland aims to change that by providing a friendly, supportive environment where people can take some time for themselves, build healthier habits and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

The first 12-week courses will be delivered at Beacon of Light, Pelton Community Centre and The Pavillion, with sessions beginning at the end of September.

Ahead of the courses starting, Foundation of Light is also running a series of free taster sessions, giving people the opportunity to come along, find out more and experience We ♥ Sunderland before committing to the full programme.

The taster sessions will take place at:

  • Beacon of Light:
    Monday 14 September, 6–7pm;
    Monday 21 September, 7–8pm;
    Tuesday 23 September, 11am–12pm

  • Pelton Community Centre, DH2 1DE:
    Thursday 10 September
    Thursday 17 September, 4–5pm

  • The Pavillion, SR4 8DY:
    Tuesday 15 September
    Tuesday 22 September, 1–2pm

The full 12-week programme is completely free, with courses beginning from 24 September across the three locations.

Whether you want to become more active, improve your wellbeing or simply make a little more time for yourself, We ♥ Sunderland provides a welcoming place to get started.

A little time for you can make a big difference.
