Harrison Centre to headline sponsor Foundation of Light's Gala Awards Dinner

We are delighted to announce The Harrison Centre for Social Mobility as the headline sponsor for our Gala Awards Dinner.

A long-standing partner of the Foundation of Light, The Harrison Centre is supporting the evening as we celebrate the impact the Foundation has made to lives across the region, while raising funds to help make sure that work can continue.

Founded by Sir David Harrison in 2017, the Centre provides tuition and training to help young people who are unemployed or have recently left school to grow in confidence, gain qualifications, become more work ready and ultimately secure a job.

Sir David Harrison, who continues to be a key friend and partner of the Foundation of Light, set up the Harrison Centre with the belief that no one should be held back by background or upbringing.

On the Harrison Centre’s support for the evening, Foundation of Light Chair of Trustees, Sir Bob Murray, said: “We’re really grateful for Sir David’s ongoing partnership with the Foundation.

“We have been lucky to work with the Harrison Centre for several years to provide opportunities for young people to gain employability skills, with plenty of successes in getting people into employment.

“Their sponsorship of our Gala Dinner is just another example of how we work together to support each other’s life-changing work. We will celebrate that work throughout the evening, and we’re delighted that the Harrison Centre will be part of the event.”

The Gala Awards Dinner takes place on Thursday 30 November at the Beacon of Light and is set to be an enjoyable evening with some great acts performing alongside a showcase of inspiring stories from children, families and adults who have overcome adversity.

Chart-topping recording artist and award-winning actor, Jason Donovan, will headline the event, the Australian being introduced to the stage by Foundation Trustee, Sir Tim Rice.

Cast members from The Sunderland Story will perform a 20-minute highlights set of their hit show, which sold out to crowds at the Empire Theatre in May.

Tables of 10 are available from just £1,750 plus VAT with individual tickets also on offer. Tickets include a VIP drinks reception and three course awards dinner.
