North East Parkies United reflect on cup triumph at St George’s Park
North East Parkies United players are ‘bursting with pride’ after winning the Cure Parkinson’s Cup at St George’s Park.
Following the huge success of the Foundation's first Mother's Day Tournament in April which saw 40 mums take to the pitches at Goals Sunderland, the fun evening sessions aim to encourage more women to participate in sport on a regular basis.
Led by Foundation of Light's specialist FA and Uefa qualified coaches, the course kicks off on Friday 9th June (6-7pm) at Goals Sunderland priced at just £2 a session and is open to women aged 18 and over of all abilities.
Our Mother's Day Tournament proved hugely popular and demonstrated there were women who are interested in playing football on a regular basis but may not have previously had the opportunity.
Foundation of Light are one of the most successful football foundations in the country for engaging women and girls in sport, working with casual and occasional players in specialist sessions through to gifted and talented players in the Sunderland and Gateshead Regional Talent Club.

Foundation of Light are excited to introduce a new partnership with Northern Premier League club Consett AFC, creating a clear pathway for male football scholarship players.
