Employees from Sainsbury’s North, Sunderland, have showed their support for the Foundation of Light, helping to support people who are struggling in these challenging times.
A donation of £200 has been made, to help aid Sunderland AFC’s officially charity, who has continued to work throughout the pandemic offering support, activities and challenges to people of all ages to help keep them physically fit, help with their mental health and keep connected.
The Foundation of Light carry out a vast amount of work within our community and assist people of all ages. People are going through tough times at the moment and the Foundation continues to be there for people who need it the most

The donation will provide 20 businesses, grassroots clubs or individuals with workshop sessions and a toolkit, on how to improve and spread mental health awareness.
Since lockdown in March 2020, the Foundation of Light have delivered 1,500 food and care packages to those self-isolating and provided activity packs to keep them engaged during lockdown, created
15 new online programmes, to support those on furlough or have recently been made unemployed, over 8,500 people engaged in weekly fitness challenges on
YouTube.
Sainsbury’s North will continue to support the Foundation of Light in 2021 as it celebrates its 20th birthday.
