The Foundation of Light, Sunderland AFC’s official charity partner, has started its search for the next North East YouTube star, as it launches 'Ha’Way the Kids' – brand new football video content for kids, created specially by kids.
Children from across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Durham are being encouraged to get involved by simply creating a short 30 second video on the theme of 'keepy uppies' and then sharing their videos with the Foundation of Light via YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #HaWaytheKids.
The best video will be chosen by Black Cats star Luke O’Nien, with the winner going on to spend the 2019/20 season creating a range of different videos for the Foundation of Light YouTube channel including skills tutorials, behind-the-scenes on match days and interviews with SAFC players.

This is such a brilliant concept. Kids come up with some of the best ideas and they look at things in such a unique way. I can’t wait to see the entries and choose the winner

Foundation of Light’s Director of Programming, Jamie Wright said “Most children watch YouTube, and they can learn so much from the wide range of videos which are available. I’m really excited to see how children and their families respond to Ha’Way the Kids. We want them to use their imaginations and produce content which is eye-catching, interesting and engaging to other children.”
To enter the competition simply tag the Foundation of Light into videos on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube and use #HaWaytheKids. Entry deadline is Monday 26th August 2019 at 5pm.
