Girls from St Joseph's Catholic Academy, representing Sunderland AFC, have booked their place at Wembley after reaching the Grand Final of the EFL Girls' Cup.
The youngsters travelled to Leeds for the Northern Regional Finals to compete with other schools representing Carlisle United, Derby County and West Brom for the chance to play at the home of English football ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy Final on Sunday 31st March.
Unbeaten in the group stage, winning three and drawing two, the girls faced West Park School (Derby County) in the final, continuing their impressive run to win 5-0 and set up a Wembley date with Bristol Rovers.
We're very proud of the girls who have played extremely well throughout our Club Heat, North East Final and now the Northern Regional Final.
They can't wait to walk out at Wembley, and if SAFC can make it through to the Checkatrade Trophy Final, it will be extra special having the Red and White Army cheering them on.
