Charlotte scores first job after working with Foundation
On ERSA Employability Day, Foundation of Light is celebrating the success of Charlotte Laddie, who has completely changed the course of her life after working with Skills Officer Susan Kane.
Foundation of Light continues to outline their commitment to supporting Sunderland’s most vulnerable with the launch of the Wear One campaign for the 2024-25 season.
The fundraising initiative hopes to rally the community, in response to the ongoing challenges faced by many; it aims to unite the city and give a hand up to those in need, to help them live better lives.
Wear One encourages everyone to come together and support each other in these challenging times.
With 35% of children in Sunderland living in poverty, this campaign is more critical than ever. Through collective effort, we can provide a much-needed hand up to those striving to improve their lives and gain employment.
In the last year, the Foundation has upskilled 1,304 learners, helped 88 people gain employment and supported 631 participants seeking employment.
"The ‘Wear One’ campaign is more than just a fundraising initiative; it’s a testament to the resilience and compassion that defines Sunderland," said Lesley Spuhler, Foundation of Light, Chief Executive.
"We are committed to strengthening our dedication to supporting those in our community who need it most. By working together, we can make a significant impact, giving every individual the opportunity to improve their lives and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive Sunderland."
Together as one: The Wear One campaign is a call for Sunderland to pull together as one, offering support to those in need and fostering an inclusive community.
Raising awareness: 1 in 3 children in Sunderland is living in poverty. This stark statistic underscores the urgent need for community support and action.
A hand up, not a handout: Empowering people to improve their lives. The Wear One campaign focuses on giving individuals the tools and opportunities they need to gain employment and enhance their quality of life.
