The Foundation of Light Player Development Programme is an invite only programme for players who have been identified as having potential in football. The aim is to develop the individual through high level coaching, focusing on technique, decision-making and psychological skills such as resilience. All sessions are delivered by our UEFA and FA Licensed Coaches, with links to Sunderland AFC Academy, Sunderland Emerging Talent Centre as well as a full player pathway at the Foundation of Light, including our scholarship programme. Players are allowed and actively encouraged to play for their grassroots team when in the Player Development Programme
