By entering Foundation of Light competitions and prize draws you confirm your acceptance to the conditions of entry.
Foundation of Light Competition Terms & Conditions
- Definitions
“Foundation” means Foundation of Light; “the Winner” means the person who is chosen as the winning entrant to each competition; “the Promoter” means Foundation of Light.
- General
2.1 The competition will run between the dates stipulated.
2.2 Entries submitted before the open date and time and/or after the closing date and time will not be considered.
- Restrictions
This competition is open to residents of the UK (including Northern Ireland) aged 16 (sixteen) years and over only. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of Foundation, their agents and anyone connected to this particular competition are not eligible to enter.
- Rules to participate
4.1 All entrants must be aged 16 (sixteen) years or over.
4.2 Entry is via the methods stipulated by the Foundation.
4.3 There is no limit to the number of entries which can be made by each participant.
4.4 The Winner consents to the Foundation using the Winners winning entry including any photography, imagery, and names being used on Foundation promotional channels both printed and digital.
4.5 No purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry into this competition. There is no charge for entering the competition. However, entrants must ensure that they have the bill payer’s permission to use any landline, mobile telephone or internet service prior to entering the competition.
4.6 There is no charge to register with the Foundation's website.
- Prize(s)
5.1 The Winner(s) will receive, courtesy of the Foundation, the prize;
There are no alternatives to the prize, the prize is as stated and is non-transferrable. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Foundation they are unable to provide the stated prizes, SAFC reserve the right in its absolute discretion to substitute the prize for a similar prize of equivalent or greater value.
- Results
6.1 The Winner will be notified by the Foundation of Light’s communications team.
6.2 The winning entry will be chosen by the Foundation after the advertised closing date. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners will be notified by email/telephone after the closing date.
6.3 If the Winner of the prize cannot be traced after reasonable efforts have been made by the Foundation’s communications team, the Foundation will be entitled to select an alternative Winner from the entries to the competition or dispose of the prize as it thinks fit without any liability to the original winner.
6.4 Notification of the winning entry will be posted on Foundation of Light social media channels and www.foundationoflight.co.uk, after the close of the competition.
- General Conditions
7.1 Any entry, which does not comply with the rules, may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of the Foundation. The Foundation is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, misdirected entries, lost or unavailable network connections, failed, incorrect, garbled, delayed electronic or other communications or other technical problems related to mobile entries. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of delivery.
7.2 All entrants agree that they may be required to take part in publicity without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include their names and/or entries.
7.3 The Foundation will monitor the nature of all entries and all tweets associated with the competition.
7.4 Entrants should note that any abusive, racist or derogatory entries will be deleted and the perpetrator will have their account reported to their service provider and if appropriate, the Police Authority.
7.5 By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material, which may be amended or varied at any time by the Promoter.

- Data protection
8.1 In order to participate in the competition participants must provide certain personal information. This personal information is collected and processed for the purposes of organising, running and monitoring the campaign, as well as for carrying out publicity activities on it.
8.2 The Promoter shall be considered the data controller for the database containing this personal information.
8.3 In entering into the competition, the entrant agrees that the Foundation may use their data for promotional purposes. The Foundation will not pass any data onto any third parties.
- Jurisdiction
9.1 This Competition and the rules are governed by English Law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
