Wear 25: Young footballer Maizie recognised for personal growth
Budding footballer Maizie Lou Stamp has been recognised as one of the Foundation of Light’s Wear 25 winners for January for her progress within the female football pathway.
Foundation of Light’s long-running Spanish football experience is back and July 2026 is set to be one of our biggest and most exciting editions yet.
Next summer marks 16 years of our partnership with Inglaterra en Casa, a collaboration that has grown from one small camp in La Nucía to a programme that now attracts around 800 young players each year. Many of our participants have gone on to achieve incredible opportunities, including Beca placements and training alongside PDC squads.
Running from 18–25 July 2026, this year’s Campus Black Cats trip offers a unique blend of high-quality coaching, language learning, and cultural immersion — all wrapped into an unforgettable week away.
Players will enjoy:
Daily football sessions led by FA & UEFA-qualified coaches
One specialist goalkeeper session across the week
Football-themed Spanish lessons
Shared, air-conditioned accommodation
Full board meals plus snacks
Evening activities, pool time, match play, and space to relax with new friends
One of the highlights every year is the group’s visit to Aqualandia, a world-class waterpark that always proves a hit after a busy start to the week.
With Foundation of Light staff travelling with the group and additional IEC staff based in La Nucía, players are supported throughout. The environment is designed to be fully engaging and immersive — a chance to build confidence, independence, and new friendships away from home.
As always, the final day features a morning tournament and a closing gala lunch before returning to Newcastle.
There are around 14 places available, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The total cost of the trip is £1,995, with a £240 deposit and monthly instalments available.
Passport and GHIC details will be collected after sign-up, with a pre-departure meeting planned for Spring 2026.
