Charity Shop shows its appreciation
The Charity Shop in Sunderland has shown its appreciation for the support given by the Foundation of Light by making a donation to the football club’s official charity. Margaret Davison, the proprietor of the Hylton Road store, set up the business as a way to give back to the local community. Over the past few months, the Foundation have lent their support to The Charity Shop by providing activity packs, food parcels and various other services through our Tackling Loneliness Together programme. As a thank you Margaret has pledged £200 to help the Foundation continue providing help to those who need it as the north east deals with the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic. The Tackling Loneliness Together programme aims to reconnect people who may be struggling with social isolation as a result of lockdown. Various forms of activities are available to help those feeling vulnerable, including Zoom calls, socially-distanced visits and activity booklets. For more information on the programme, or if you know someone who might benefit from it, visit www.foundationoflighth.co.uk/loneliness
