Community Captain Bobby honoured by Sunderland Legend Kevin Ball
Premier League Kicks volunteer Bobby Byers was presented with the Premier League Community Captain award by Sunderland AFC legend Kevin Ball.
Cole Griffiths has not only shone in PE sessions during Premier League Primary Stars delivery at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School but has also been able to develop the confidence to strike up new friendships.
The six-year-old always took part in PE sessions with enthusiasm, but his tutors started to notice he didn’t seem to have many friends to play with at break times.
He seemed to struggle to connect socially with other kids in the class and would sometimes shy away from joining in with particular tasks.
Cole’s increased confidence has complemented his enthusiasm for PE, and he has become a real example to all of the other students.
He has seemed to strike up more friendships with the peers in his class that have continued outside of sessions and during break times, becoming popular with other students in his year group.
Cole has shone in sessions even more and he has started to win Premier League certificates in the sessions, not only for his own excellence, but the way he communicates and helps his friends during PE lessons and at break times.
