Deadline nearing for Lambton runners
Organisers of the Lambton Run are reminding runners to sign up for the iconic 10k prior to the upcoming closing date for online entries on 15th June. The Lambton 10k and 3k runs, taking place Sunday 24th June, are set in the grounds of the picturesque Lambton Estate, with the 10k course taking in the beautiful surroundings including the magnificent Lambton Castle. Hosted by Sunderland-based charity Foundation of Light the runs raise vital funds for their life-changing community work across Sunderland, County Durham and South Tyneside. The annual run is perfectly timed for those training towards the Great North Run in September and offers a rural, undulating course which has proved popular with club and recreational runners alike. Suitable for families and runners of all ages and abilities, the 3k Family Fun Run is perfect for younger participants.
“The Lambton 10k and 3k runs are always very popular and we always look forward to welcoming runners to the beautiful Lambton Estate. “We’ve made it easier than ever for people to register for the race online and have already had a great response but we want to ensure that nobody misses out on what will be a fantastic event.”
Jemma Garrett, Foundation of Light Events Manager
