The
Beacon of Light is set to host its first-ever gaming tournament in partnership with Innovation Esports.
The collaboration will see an action-packed day of esports challenges take place at the home of the football club’s official charity.
Kicking off on Saturday 29 August, gaming fans of all ages can take part in a number of competitive challenges and also stand the chance of winning cash prizes.
The Beacon of Light recently reopened its doors following lockdown to offer a range of indoor activities, the Esports Challenge forms part of the Beacon’s ongoing commitment encourage staying connected and motivating young people.
Gaming can be highly motivating and when harnessed it can enhance young people's education, and support future vocational choices.
Tickets for the Esports Challenge at the Beacon of Light are priced at £4.99. The event takes place on Saturday 29 August, from 10am-4pm.

- Once your ticket has been purchased you will receive a pre-assigned time-slot to attend.
- On arrival, participants will receive a briefing from our gaming administrators who will give you hints, tips, and tricks to generate the highest possible score.
- You will then be asked to give a live pre-match interview with one of our hosts, that can be saved and shared with friends and family.
- Now the real fun starts as you take part in up to 8 mini-quests, completing challenges using our modern classic arcade titles.
- Finally, battle it out with an opponent in a once in a lifetime opportunity to play FIFA 20 supersized on a console.
- While all participants will be automatically entered into a prize draw. The highest scoring participants are in with a chance to win a cash prize of up to £500.
