Fifty youngsters took part in the Foundation of Light’s first-ever virtual holiday course programme during the May half-term.
As the football club’s official charity continue to adapt and innovate during lockdown, our coaches and tutors were able to devise a plan so that no youngsters missed out on their usual school break fun.
Daily sessions were held via Zoom calls where kids had a morning PE session, enjoyed their footy fix and we also introduced virtual cookery lessons and education challenges.
One parent, Kelly Woods, was delighted with the opportunity to keep her kids entertained and told us that her two sons enjoyed it just as much:
“James and Daniel really enjoyed the education session. James said he felt like he was learning, but in a fun way and Daniel likes anything to do with football!
“It would be great to see more sessions like this from the Foundation while the kids remain off school as many primary years are still not returning yet.”
Foundation holiday courses will return during the summer school break.
