Fixtures Breakfast returns

Sunderland AFC head coach Lee Johnson joined Kristjaan Speakman and Steve Davison at the Foundation of Light’s Fixtures Breakfast event. The annual curtain-raiser on the football season returned as a face-to-face event after moving to a virtual Zoom event last year. The trio took were part of the panel, hosted by BBC’s Jeff Brown as just under 100 guests from businesses across the region were in attendance at the Beacon of Light. We found out on Thursday morning that the Lads will kick off the new EFL League One campaign at the Stadium of Light against Wigan Athletic on Saturday 7 August. Guests enjoyed an insightful question and answer session from the panel, who shared insight into how they work, their hopes for the new campaign and how they have found their time at the football club so far. The football club’s official charity honoured their annual tradition of hosting a get-together for the reveal of the 2021-22 fixture list.
