Business Breakfasts, hosted in partnership with Aspire Technology Solutions, are regular fixtures in Foundation of Light’s events calendar offering the charity’s extensive list of partners a chance to network.
Following breakfast served by the Beacon of Light’s Yard Nine Café, several informed speakers took to the stage to discuss different issues related to child poverty.
Alison Dunn, Chief Executive Officer of the Society Matters Group at Citizens Advice Gateshead, opened the talks by sharing her insight on poverty in the North East, the benefits system, and workplace poverty.
Steph Capewell, Founder and CEO of Love Amelia, was next up to discuss the third sector and Love Amelia’s much-needed work within the region.
Finally, Foundation of Light Trustee and Chair of Newcastle Building Society, James Ramsbotham, spoke about the Wear One campaign and the work that is still needed to combat poverty across Sunderland and the North East.
Plenty of discussions and networking began after the conclusion of the talks between representatives of partner organisations of Sunderland AFC’s official charity.
