Foundation supports Active Disability Month
Foundation of Light is joining forces with The Tyne & Wear Disability Sport Forum to give those with disabilities the opportunity to take part in a range of sports. Throughout September a host of activities will be taking place to mark Active Disability Sport Month with organisations across the North East offering taster sessions in football, archery, wheelchair basketball, tennis, cycling and more. Making Moves, the Foundation's disability coaching team, delivers fun, exciting and challenging weekly activities which ensure young people and adults across the North-East can enjoy sport, an active lifestyle and build friendships.
We are proud to support Active Disability Sport Month by highlighting the sporting opportunities available to those with disabilities in the North East. We are committed to not only creating and providing these opportunities, but also raising awareness and tackling the stigma associated with disabilities.

"Therefore, we felt it was important to work with our partners and other activity providers to highlight what is on offer and use September as the month to promote of the great work that is being done to make sport and physical activity more accessible." Foundation of Light's Making Moves is supported by the PL/BT Disability Fund. A calendar of events has been created listing all of the activities on offer, which can be found at www.tynewearsport.org/active-disability-month.
