A Sunderland-based award-winning programme helping unemployed people into work is currently recruiting for its next course, starting later this month.
Ran by Sunderland AFC charity Foundation of Light, ‘Back in the Game’ is a 10-week programme supporting adults aged 19 and over with opportunities to gain qualifications, work experience and employment.
The programme has helped more than 76% of learners into employment or further training since launch.
One former participant, Robert has progressed in his role at Ashley Mews Care Home where he started as a Care Assistant and is now a Senior Care Assistant.
Robert praised the course saying, “without Back in the Game I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Robert gained employment within two weeks of completing the course and achieved Edexcel English and Maths which helped him study towards an NVQ Level 3 in Care which he is now pursuing a career in.
Designed to increase motivation and self-esteem amongst participants, ‘Back in the Game’ consists a mixture of classroom, practical and physical activities.
Back in the Game has a great track record of helping people get into work and helping them move forward in their lives and make those first steps to a brighter future. It’s perfect to help people get the skills, confidence and experience to get into work.
