Wear 25: Young footballer Isla Cameron earns England Deaf Futsal call-up
Foundation of Light has recognised Isla Cameron as one of its Wear 25 award winners, following her call-up to the England U13s Deaf Futsal team.
Last year’s event was really enjoyable. It gives families the chance to do something festive and fun in the lead up to Christmas, whilst raising money for two worthwhile causes.
Jemma Dowson, Head of Events at Foundation of LightChildren's entry (12 and under) costs £3.50 which includes a reindeer nose and antlers, plus a fantastic reindeer medal and free entry to The Bridges Santa Grotto. For all you adults young at heart... you can join the fun too. Enter the run for £5.50 and receive your own reindeer nose and antlers, whilst knowing your donation will help us raise as much money as possible. Proceeds from the event will be shared between Foundation of Light to raise valuable funds to support our award-winning programmes and Red Sky Ball which is an annual charity event which raises funds for Children’s Heart Fund at the Freeman Hospital. This year’s event carries extra significance as Sunderland AFC’s official charity celebrates its 25th anniversary, making it a perfect opportunity to come together and mark a milestone year.
Players from the Emerging Talent Centre, Player Development Club, and Female Scholarship programmes, ranging from U13s to U18s, took part in a week-long training camp in the Netherlands.
