The Black Cats are back in the Sky Bet Championship and over 30,000 of the red and white army have secured their season ticket ahead of Sunday’s opening game against Coventry.
With Alex Neil’s men hoping to get off to the perfect start in front of the home faithful, Sunderland AFC’s official charity, Foundation of Light, are also after your backing this weekend.
Football returning to the Stadium of Light also means the return of our Ha’way and Play matchday lottery. Our lottery takes place every home matchday, raising thousands of pounds of vital funds to support the work of the Foundation.
You can buy tickets up until kick-off at the Stadium of Light from sellers located around the concourse - you’ll not miss them in their bright green hoodies!
Tickets cost just £2 and by buying a lottery ticket, supporters get the opportunity to win £1000 and a signed Sunderland shirt among other items.
The winning numbers are posted on stadium scoreboards during the half-time interval as well during the second-half. You can also find the winning numbers on our website and social media channels.
Community and giving are central traits of Sunderland fans, it is part of the region’s DNA and the club are often seen or referred to as “the caring/community club” – something which the fans are immensely proud of.
We stood as one at Wembley. We will stand as one throughout the upcoming campaign. We now need to stand together as one off the football pitch to ensure our very own are supported and cared for. You can read below how your generosity impacts our work as well as the lives of the people we work with.
- £4 gives a person with a disability access to a specialist sports session.
- £10 gives one child who is normally in receipt of free school meals, with a meal and sports learning activities during the school holidays.
- £20 allows us to develop mental health resources to support people in our community.
- £40 pays for five older people to attend activities to stay socially active and improve physical and mental wellbeing.
One club. One community. Ha’way and play with us this weekend.
