Help the Beacon light up North East lives
Foundation of Light will be selling special light-up at Sunderland AFC's clash with Aston Villa as part of the final fundraising drive to build the Beacon of Light. The wristbands, which become bright red when illuminated, will be available from Foundation staff stationed around the Stadium of Light before kick off (7.45pm), in SAFC stores and online at beaconoflight.co.uk priced at just £3 each (plus £1 postage if purchased online). Foundation of Light, the registered charity of Sunderland AFC, is selling the bands on the concourse to support the final fundraising push to complete the Beacon of Light which will open later this year. The campaign has been backed by SAFC legend Niall Quinn and current players such as John O'Shea and George Honeyman.
I think the wristbands are a great idea. It’s a very simple way of showing you care about the future of the local community it will make a big difference to future generations.
