New book launched as part of Anti-Bullying Week
Former Sunderland AFC defender David Corner joins BBC Look North presenter Jeff Brown to share the agony of his 1985 Milk Cup Final mishap as part of Anti-Bullying Week. The pair have documented Dave's experience in a brand-new audio book 'Cornered' with all proceeds going to the Foundation of Light. The ex-Black Cat is taking the opportunity to share moment that has haunted him for years, and turn a negative into a positive, to support SAFC’s official charity. David is remembered by Sunderland fans for all the wrong reasons; an error at Wembley Stadium saw the Lads miss out on the league cup trophy to Norwich City. He was 18 years-old at the time and has never lived it down, and fans have never let him forget it either. A few years ago, Jeff Brown, took that moment and wrote the play ‘Cornered’ which enjoyed a sell-out run in theatres around the North East. Now, to coincide with National Anti-Bullying Week, Jeff and David have released David’s story in a brand-new audiobook, also titled ‘Cornered’.
