OUR STORIES: MIA FINDS HER FEET
A once shy and bashful little girl has definitely found her feet, learning to express herself through dance thanks to Foundation of Light’s Making Moves programme.    The specialist disability sessions gave the youngster the opportunity to socialise and provided an environment where she felt comfortable to be herself.   No longer quiet and reserved, Mia gives 110% in the classes and even has the confidence to perform routines in front of new people.   “Mia is completely reenergised,” her Mam described.   “She comes away from the sessions so inspired and full of chat, it’s so nice to see that side of her.”  The Foundation of Light offers a wide range of disability programmes to ensure young people and adults across the north east can enjoy sport, an active lifestyle and build friendships.  Making Moves offers fun, exciting and challenging sessions and activities which help develop gross motor skills, balance and coordination as well as encouraging teamwork, communication and confidence.  Watch Mia’s story below. For more feel-good Foundation stories subscribe to our  YouTube channel.  [embed]https://youtu.be/cuP7GcHQOqo[/embed]
