PALACE PRAISE FOR FOUNDATION EFFORTS
During these uncertain times staff at the Foundation of Light continues to support the local community. Despite the usual programme of courses being reduced, the team have ensured that there’s still plenty of ways families can take part in our courses and initiatives, whether that be using online resources; through the daily and weekly challenges that have been set or staff keeping in touch with vulnerable learners. Each week members of our team have also been volunteering at the Sunderland Foodbank, a long-serving partnership that has seen over two tonnes of food donated across Wearside. The charity’s efforts have not gone unnoticed, with an accolade of the highest order winging its way to Foundation of Light CEO Lesley Spuhler from HRH The Countess of Wessex. See the note below:
“I know you will continue to operate as best you can and help those in need, in what are difficult circumstances. Please look after yourselves and each other as we make our way through this period”
