PAPER PLANES FOR JAVELINS

PAPER PLANES FOR JAVELINS
Family Learners have continued to take part in Foundation of Light courses while staying at home and staying safe. Using household items parents and children have been encouraged to create the Living Room – or garden – Olympics! Whether that be swapping javelins for paper planes and the discus becomes a paper plate! One family that embraced that challenge was the Wojciechowskas, check out their efforts below. The Olympic sessions form part of the Foundation’s Health and Fitness course and can be adapted while in isolation and distance learning. Each athletic event has been tailored for families utilising household items rather sports equipment. The aim of the task was to help families understand weekly physical activity goals set by the NHS and define what was vigorous physical activity and moderate. Learners were asked to score what events made them feel like they were performing vigorous physical activity or moderate.
