Pupils have been helping Newcastle Airport passengers get into the festive spirit before they jet off for the Christmas and New Year break.
Last week, pupils from three schools took to the airport to spread Christmas cheer. The opportunity for the three schools to sing at the airport arose from Foundation of Light, Newcastle United Foundation and Middlesbrough FC Foundation all being Newcastle Airport’s adopted charity
The partnership with Newcastle Airport and the three Foundations has been running for the last few years and money donated will go directly to helping people within the local community.
I would like to thank all passengers who were generous in donating and speaking to the children. Everyone at Christmas enjoys hearing carols and the children really enjoyed the day.
Jemma Dowson, Head of Events at the Foundation of Light
Situated in the departure and arrival areas at the airport are charity collection globes, where any currency can be donated and will be split between the three charities.
As well as its fundraising achievements, Newcastle was named Airport of the Year for the second year running.
