PUPILS PUT THE RIGHT FOOT FORWARD

PUPILS PUT THE RIGHT FOOT FORWARD
Over 80 Primary School pupils took part in a special celebration event this week at the Beacon of Light as part of Foundation of Light’s Samson Shoes enterprise programme. The 10-week programme guides pupils through the basic principles involved in taking a product to market including, pricing, market research and promotion to develop new shoe ideas for Sunderland AFC mascot Samson. Delivered in schools, the pupils worked in teams to produce a presentation that they performed in front of a panel of judges.
Sessions in school were well planned and the resources were great. I was very pleased with the organisation and the delivery of the programme
Patrick Hair, Assistant Head Teacher at Mill Hill Primary School
Pupils from Mill Hill Primary School and Coxhoe Primary School attended the event at the Beacon of Light, the state-of-the-art new home of SAFC charity Foundation of Light. Danielle Lane, Premier League Primary Stars Education Coordinator for the Foundation of Light added: “All of the pupils have worked really hard throughout the 10-week programme. Every presentation was creative and I would like to thank all the schools for attending today.” The winners were ‘Savanna Shoes’ from Mill Hill Primary School who wowed the judges with their design and features. Samson’s Shoes is part of the Foundation of Light’s portfolio of programmes for Primary Schools that are available across Sunderland, County Durham and South Tyneside.
