Show your support to Foundation of Light ahead of dedicated matchday

It’s just under two weeks to go until Foundation of Light Matchday and we have plenty of ways for you to get involved and show your support.

Sunderland AFC’s official charity is set to take over the Stadium of Light when the Black Cats face Millwall on Saturday 29 March to showcase our programmes and their impact across the North East.

This season's matchday will focus on the Wear One campaign, which hopes to rally the community, in response to the ongoing challenges faced by many; it aims to unite the city and give a hand up to those in need, to help them live better lives.

There are several ways SAFC supporters can get involved during the matchday and throughout the year:

Foundation Prize Draws

Our prize draws allow you to donate to the Foundation of Light while having the chance to win something back!

Hosted on Crowdfunder, you can enter the draw via the minimum donation or increase this for more entries into the draw.

All names will be put into a random draw, with prizes including unforgettable experiences, such as a mascot place for a child, and signed memorabilia.

Visit the Beacon of Light Fan Zone

Beacon of Light’s pre-match Fan Zone will be bigger and better with more family friendly activities to get involved in.

There will also be plenty of fundraising activities taking place (please ensure you bring cash to take part!)

Ha’way and Play Lottery

Sunderland AFC’s official matchday lottery raises funds for the Foundation of Light.

You can buy a ticket for just £2 from sellers located around the Stadium of Light concourses (look for the bright green hoodies) for a chance to win £1,000 or a signed ball.

Take part in your own fundraising event

Inspired to support Foundation of Light Matchday? You can set up your own sponsored challenge or dedicated event to raise funds. Black Cats fans Alfie and Joey took their support for the Wear One campaign to another level with their Four Marathons in Four Days challenge, running all the way to Hillsborough Stadium to watch SAFC face Sheffield Wednesday – raising over £2,000.

Previously, schools and workplaces have held their own Red and White Days, allowing people to wear their colours for the day in return for a donation to SAFC’s official charity.

Matchworn Shirts Auction

Keep your eyes peeled post-match for the Matchworn Shirts auction.

The one-off shirts featuring Foundation of Light’s Wear One logo will be signed and auctioned, with all funds raised supporting the campaign.

It is your chance to own a unique piece of Sunderland AFC history while raising money to empower lives across Sunderland and the surrounding region.

Here’s some ways in which your money could support the delivery of Wear One:

• £3 would give someone access to our healthy lifestyle fitness programme
• £5 would teach a person how to cook healthy meals on a budget
• £10 would pay for an older couple to attend activities to improve physical and mental wellbeing
