Sir Bob Murray entertains crowd at 'talk-in' event to celebrate autobiography release

Sir Bob Murray took part in an 'Evening With’ talk-in event at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday to celebrate the release of his autobiography – I’d Do It All Again.

The former Sunderland AFC Chairman, and visionary behind the Stadium, Academy, and Beacon of Light, joined BBC Sport’s lead commentator, Guy Mowbray, to answer questions and share stories in the stadium’s Montgomery Suite.

On the night, Sir Bob shared stories about interactions with a range of familiar names such as Sir Tom Cowie, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, and Peter Reid, as well as how he fell in love with the football club.

“My Dad brought me for a game against Wolves in the 1950s,” he said on how his passion for SAFC started.

“Seeing 50,000 faces in the crowd, I was breathless.”

Guests were able to purchase a copy of the former SAFC Chairman’s new book ahead of today’s official release.

I’d Do It All Again is now available to purchase online at www.sirbobmurraybook.com, or in-person exclusively at the Beacon of Light and SAFC stores.

You have not missed your chance to meet Sir Bob Murray and get your copy of the book signed. The former Sunderland AFC Chairman will be taking part in a book signing at the Stadium of Light Club Store from 12pm (noon) on Friday 13 October.

All proceeds from all book sales and associated donations will go to Foundation of Light, Sunderland AFC’s official charity, supporting our ‘Heart on your Sleeve’ campaign.

North East football fans are notorious for their passion and the Foundation channels that energy to help make a difference to lives across Wearside, helping them live happier and healthier lives.

Foundation of Light works with up to 20,000 young people and families every year and aim to tackle these issues, encouraging parents and grandparents to stay both physically and mentally active to inspire the next generation to do the same.

Through various initiatives and programmes and links with Sunderland AFC, the Foundation gives families the opportunity to access sports and fitness sessions, mental health resources and experience the facilities at the Beacon of Light community hub.
