SIT AND BE FIT AT HOME

SIT AND BE FIT AT HOME
While we’re all staying safe at home there’s no excuse for anyone not to be staying active – especially with the Foundation of Light at work ensuring everyone has access to alternative activities! Members of the Foundation of Light’s Extra Time Hubs, a programme delivered to those aged over-55, in partnership with the EFL Trust, have been exercising each week thanks to specially provided ‘Sit and Be Fit’ videos. The class usually gather at the Beacon of Light for their keep fit sessions but lockdown has meant a change in routine for the group. Videos of seated chair exercises were compiled and shared with members so they could continue to stay active and build on the sessions they had already attended. The Extra Time Hub is part of a national project from the EFL Trust and gives people who are retired the opportunity to meet like-minded people and create activities for the group which could have a benefit to their physical and mental health, throughout the lockdown period members have continued to keep in touch and are helping each other find alternative ways to stay active. Each of the workout videos can be seen on YouTube, subscribe to the Foundation's official YouTube channel here.  [embed]https://youtu.be/alTvMjzteFk[/embed]
