Sleep Out is a great event to be part of and we get new people coming every year and everyone has their own story on why they are taking part. We are looking forward to this year’s event which we hope will be the most successful yet.
Jemma Dowson, Foundation of Light’s Events ManagerThis will be the fifth year Sleep Out has run in the North East. Last year over 80 people took part, raising more than £21,000 for the two charities. Last year, Centrepoint worked with 10,000 homeless young people, providing support that goes far beyond simply providing accommodation. . Jess Sullivan, Regional Fundraising Officer for Centrepoint said: “By taking part in Sleep Out, you can make a real difference to the lives of homeless young people in the North East, supporting us to give people access to much more than a safe place to stay. Centrepoint works with homeless 16-25 year olds to ensure that they receive the specialist health and learning support they need to re-enter education or employment and gain vital independent living skills so that they can live successful lives free of homelessness in the future. Signing up to Sleep Out with us on 15 November couldn’t be easier and our team is on hand to support you to reach your fundraising goal. Every year we’ve beaten our previous years’ total, and local businesses and communities have been fantastic at supporting the event – we know that we can make 2018 our best year yet – we just need your help to get there! Registration is now open for participants at £20 and a fundraising target of £200 is required.
