Sunderland and Gateshead Regional Talent Club Under 16s will travel to Leicester City in the Second Round of the FA Girls' Youth Cup. The young Black Cats secured their place after overcoming Teesside Girls Sport RTC 3-1 in the Determining Round, while the Foxes won through on penalties after a 1-1 draw with MK Dons Under 16s Girls. The game will be played on Saturday 24th November (kick off 10.30am) at the University of Leicester (LE2 4FS). Run in partnership between Foundation of Light, Gateshead College and supported by Durham County Football Association, the Sunderland and Gateshead RTC is recognised as one of the best in the country. Players take part in a comprehensive training programme covering all areas and concepts of football, with teams taking part in the FA Girls Talent Pathway against elite clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, as well as in local league competition.
