A unique and innovative Early Years football programme, ‘Little Dribblers’ is designed to engage young children aged 18-month to 3 years old in the beginning of their football journey, focussing on dribbling, movement skills and co-ordination.
Skills Centre is for children aged 5 to 7 years and familiarises children with the building block techniques of football, such as dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting.
From aged 8, players are encouraged to take the next step into our Skills Centres aimed at players aged 8-14 Years
Wildcats Football Centre, run in partnership with the FA, gives girls aged 5-11 regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment.
Sunderland Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) will be launched for the 2023-24 season, and will be incorporated into our already strong player pathway, beginning at our Wildcats sessions, progressing into our Player Development Programme.
The Foundation Community Clubs offer young people aged six upwards the chance to become part of a team. Run by volunteers, teams train weekly and play in organised football competitions as part of the Russell Foster Youth League.
Taking place at the Beacon of Light, walking football is a great way for over-55s to keep active. The rules are simple...no running and have fun!
The Player Development Centres are invite only for boys and girls who have shown promising skills and commitment through Foundation of Light’s Open Trials, Schools, Evening and Weekend or Holiday programmes and invited to attend advanced weekly coaching sessions.
Our UEFA and FA qualified coaches here at Foundation of Light are highly experienced in delivering bespoke coaching sessions for youngsters of all ages and abilities.
