The Foundation of Light has teamed up with volunteer travel company African Adventures to offer Sunderland AFC fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to travel to Kenya to help improve thousands of lives in the UK and Africa.
African Adventures works with 11 community projects in Nakuru, Kenya, to help improve the lives of the 3,500 children who attend and proceeds from this very special adventure will be donated to the Foundation of Light to support people of all ages across the North East, live happier and healthier lives.
The amazing eight-night adventure takes place on 16th April 2022, where fans will spend five days volunteering alongside like-minded others - teaching in classrooms, coaching sports, or building new classrooms, kitchens and other key infrastructure projects during this trip, enabling them to develop new skills and dedicate their time to a valuable cause.
But the trip won’t be all work and no play – anyone travelling will also be given the chance to discover everything that Kenya has to offer on with a Rift Valley Adventure Day; a safari at Lake Nakuru National Park, witnessing the Earth’s gravitational pull in action at the Equator, and hiking down the spectacular Thomson Falls – one of the deepest waterfalls in east Africa.
Kenya is where African Adventures was born after it formed its first project partnership with The Walk Centre in Nakuru in 2009. Since then, the company has grown to support 26 partner projects and more than 22,000 children across Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.
